Mary Swallow is an antiques specialist with over 20 years’ experience in the trade, with a particular focus on Chinese textiles. Over the course of her career, she has developed an international client base, working with private collectors in both China and the United States.

 

She has worked as a Senior Valuer for auction houses, handling a broad range of material and developing a reputation for her considered eye and depth of knowledge.

 

Her interest in antiques began early, accompanying her parents to auctions and fairs across the country. What began as reluctant exposure developed into a lifelong profession.

 

She continues to source with a discerning eye, often travelling in search of pieces with strong decorative appeal and historical interest.

 

Mary is also a regular dealer on the long-running Quest television series Salvage Hunters: The Restorers.
