An attractive early 20th century Japanese black lacquered plant stand or jardinière stand, decorated with red and gilt landscape scenes and geometric borders. Raised on slender square supports united by shaped stretchers.
A decorative piece with good colour and surface patination, retaining its original lacquer decoration. There is age-related wear throughout, including losses, scratches and some splitting to the lacquered top moulding, all commensurate with age and use and visible in the photographs.
