A wonderfully decorative early 20th-century walnut wall mirror, the shaped frame with gilt detailing and surmounted by a carved and gilded Prince of Wales’s feathers crest.

Above the mirror plate is a particularly charming hand-painted maritime scene, depicting a three-masted sailing ship flying a red ensign, accompanied by smaller sailing vessels and set against a distant mountainous coastline. The painted surface has developed attractive craquelure and age-related wear.

The large rectangular mirror plate is bordered with delicate gilt moulding. A striking and unusual decorative mirror, combining maritime interest with the distinctive Prince of Wales’s feathers motif.

In good antique condition with wear, marks and patination consistent with age, particularly to the painted panel and frame. Please see photographs for condition.
