A wonderfully characterful French snail lamp dating to the 20th century. The sculptural snail is formed with a dark patinated bronze body and mounted on a substantial variegated marble base.
The shell is formed from textured coloured glass, with striking yellow and blue tones when unlit, transforming to a warm golden glow when illuminated. A particularly unusual and decorative piece of French lighting with a distinctly surrealist quality.
Good vintage condition with age-related wear. Rewired.
