A good example from the Magic Mushroom Lamp Company, produced in California in the late 1960s into the 1980s.
This one is a bit better than most you come across, with a wood base rather than the more commonly seen resin versions. It gives it a much more natural, organic feel and a good weight in the hand.
The coral textured shade diffuses the light nicely, giving a soft, warm glow. A very decorative piece and typical of that slightly psychedelic, nature inspired design of the period.
There has been a repair to the large shade, which isn’t particularly noticeable, otherwise in good condition overall with age related wear as expected. Fully working.
